{{year}} {{brand}} {{engine}} FRM failure explained

Footwell Module (FRM) failure is a common problem in {{brand}} cars. The FRM module is a unit that controls all the vehicle's lights.

The FRM is an electronic component that controls electrical elements and receives signals from sensors in your {{year}} {{brand}} {{engine}}, such as the ones which operate lights, windows, mirrors, and other switches. The FRM receives signals from these sources and activates lights or controls the component itself.

Typically your {{brand}} FRM will fail when you jump-start your vehicle, the vehicle’s battery goes flat or the battery is disconnected for maintenance.

Symptoms of failed {{year}} {{brand}} {{engine}} FRM units include:

  • Headlights do not work
  • Light switches do not work
  • Windows do not move up or down
  • Parking lights stay on
  • Indicators do not work

If your {{year}} {{brand}} {{engine}} FRM is faulty due to a flat battery, it is highly recommended that you replace your vehicle battery. FRM units have an extremely high failure rate, so the battery must be replaced to avoid future problems.

Once a repaired FRM from the ECU Pro is installed per our instructions no additional programming is required. All the lights will work, and the vehicle will be 100% back to normal.

{{year}} {{brand}} {{engine}} FRM service highlight:

  • 100% plug and play - There is no other programming required once repaired.
  • 1-2 day turn around - Most of our repairs are done within 1 day, excluding shipping.
  • 6-month warranty - All our FRM units come with a 6-month warranty.
